Acrylic, 12 x 12 on birch panel framed in a natural floater frame and ready for your wall. This painting is more about the process it went through. This started from an inspirational photo I took from one of our road trips where the weather was clear allowing me to see the mountains and terrain clearly. After I finished the painting, it was pretty but I felt it was boring. This is the when I usually take out my orbital sander and I sand through the paint allowing for wonderful textures and merging of colors. At this stage, I usually completely paint over the painting but with this painting, the sanding left a wonderful surface and that was all I needed to finish the painting and make it exciting.
