This fiesta guy is oh so pretty. It started out as an orange painting, then blue, then green until I finally gave up and let it have its way....that was my best move.

This painting was inspired by a trip to Clarksville, MS for the Blues Festival. There were several silos and lean-tos converted into B & B’s and the aluminum had taken on a beautiful patina. By the way….I highly recommend going to Clarksdale for the Blues Festival.

Illumination came from my walk along the river, two blocks from my house (I know, I'm so lucky). The sun was setting at the same time a big storm was coming in. There was both light and dark in the horizon.

These are a sample of what the mini's look like. I call these box paintings. They are 5 x 5 on a deep 1.75 cradle board. They can be hung separately, as multiples or they can set on a shelf, windowsill or a bookcase. They sell out fast so I can't keep my website up to date. I was vacation driving from Portland to Bend in the early evening and the light (my favorite time to drive) made the landscape glow with light. I used Cold Wax and Oil in this piece because I knew it would help pull out the luminosity of the light in this landscape.
